Iconic British brand, Ghost London, approached Akiko Design to support their entry into the sports and fitness market with a new range of yoga and exercise clothing called Go by Ghost.

In readiness for the imminent launch of the new clothing range, Akiko created a brand identity to ensure Go by Ghost stands out in a competitive marketplace.

With GO, we wanted a flexible and dynamic brand identity that could easily adapt to different products and ranges – something that reflected the aspirations of an active audience and spoke in a modern and direct way. Akiko’s brand development perfectly captures how we want the brand to communicate.

During extensive namestorming, we came up with the name ‘Go by Ghost’ – a play on the letter ‘G’ of Ghost. We then played with the Ghost logo too… By deconstructing the ‘G’ and incorporating an arrow, the new logotype forms a connection with the established brand whilst appealing to the active nature of the target audience.

The new Go by Ghost logo has been designed to form patterns when repeated on digital and printed marketing assets and on the clothing itself.

Using the guidelines produced by Akiko, we have started to roll out the new brand with the design of product labelling and swing tickets.

Go by Ghost will launch in April 2021 in retail outlets such as John Lewis and Asos, so watch this space…
